Custom Fabrication

Custom stone fabrication is one of the specialties that sets Rock Hard apart. Using our precision wire saw, we transform fieldstone boulders into beautifully cut steps and steppers, creating natural, durable solutions for walkways, elevation changes, and standout landscape features.

Our process has been refined over years of in-house production, allowing us to create consistent 7" cut boulder steps with a clean, thermaled finish, as well as 2" cut steppers that can be thermaled or left sawn. In addition to boulder products, we also fabricate limestone and granite steps from premium outcroppings.

Most of these items are stocked and ready for pickup, and our vertical wire saw enables custom cutting for specialty projects such as monuments, signs, benches, and more. If you're looking for unique stonework that elevates your space, our fabrication shop is built for it.

Core drilling is another specialty service we offer to help bring unique water features (and more!) to life. Most commonly used to create bubbler rocks, core drilling allows us to transform boulders into low-maintenance, visually striking landscape accents. Bubbler features provide the calming sound and movement of water without the cost or complexity of larger systems—making them a popular choice for both homeowners and contractors.

Our drill can create holes from ½" to 4" in diameter and up to 14" deep, giving you plenty of flexibility for custom designs. We carry a wide selection of basalt columns, bowls, and natural outcroppings ideal for drilling, and every piece is cored to order. Most projects can be completed within 1–2 weeks, ensuring a smooth and timely process from selection to installation.
